Play a great-looking Mah Jongg game
Of the many Mah Jongg games available online, Kyodai is one of the best looking (and sounding). The pieces, background, and optional MIDI music have an oriental flavor. As in similar games, the objective is to empty a board by removing pairs of matching tiles. Play in one- or two-player mode, or try an easier Concentration-type game called Mah Jongg Rivers, a Tetris-inspired contest entitled Mah-Jonng Columns, or a new tile-removal game known as Mah-Jong Clicks. You can select from 18 different layouts (or create your own with the program's built-in layout editor), four different tile sets (or load your own), four types of backgrounds (or use your own .bmp files), and eight MIDI-based song choices. The game also has digital sound effects. When you get stumped, a Shuffle button rearranges the tiles to give you a fresh perspective. If you get really stuck, click the Hint button to highlight a possible move. Other features include Pause and Undo commands, a status bar that tells you how many tiles and moves you have left and how long you've been playing the current game, and a Hall of Fame for top scores. If you're a Mah Jongg fan, Kyodai is a must-download. You can play this evaluation edition for 21 days.
